if your looking for performance then i think you should think about replacing more than just the back box.
The back box hardly makes a performing difference; but if you change the middle part: cat back or manifold too, then you will notice around 5bhp increase. Magnex are good but expensive

Magnex, piper and scorpion seem ot be the top 3 on here. magnex and scorpion are quite quiet and are good for performance whereas piper is louder and also good for performance. If you want performance though listen to Mick, put a cat back system on, de-cat and manifold for best performance.

piper sounds best IMO, and fits correctly on the car.

Yeah as said above you'll need to replace the system to at least the cat backwards to notice a difference, a back box alone wont make too much difference.
Piper, magnex, scorpion all do nice systems.

Like above mentioned, a back box is purely for Looks and Sound
Just changing the final box in the system will not make any difference to your cars performance, where as a full cat back system will see a better improvement in how the car performes. A back box will generally set you back £90-£150 depending on the brand but when full systems start at £130 and go rite upto £300+ its worth saving abit more then going for the full system.
A 4branch manifold will see the biggest gains as will removing the cat remember the cat will have to be in the system for MoT time :-)
