Easy as pie. Sump plug is at the rear of the sump, forget the size of socket you need but they're readily available from halfords etc. Plug might be a bit stiff but use a long bar if it is and you'll be fine although mine came off pretty easily using a 3/8" drive wratchet. Use a new sump plug washer too when you're putting it back in. and change the oil when it's warm (flows out better).

I always use an engine cleaner in the oil and run that for a little while before draining.

What are the washers called then in halfords. Im not going crazy with cleaners and stuff

just ask for sump plug washers at the parts desk at halfords or any motor factors, about 30p each. no need for engine cleaners, regular oil changes with decent oil is fine.

always change the filter too for a few quid more. If you can afford it always use synthetic oil, much cleaner and never scums up

I'm with Williamsvts with adatives, never used them and never will, if you change the oil regularly no need to flush, it's a personal thing really.

id recommend a drain pan if you dont mind spending a few extra £££.

as it will make the job cleaner than using your mums tea tray or a old tub lol.

if the old filter hasnt had oil put on the seal before fitting and is stuck just stab it with a screw driver and use that as a handle to get it unscrewed nice and easy,.

on my 02 1.1 the filter is a paper cartridge what a fu__ing mess each change. Why they went to this from a metal cartridge beggars belief.
