I'm on my own premium, 18 years old and 1 years NCB. Pay around 900 quid.

Better off going on your own mate, worth it in the long run.

ITs a good quote mate but there are 2 things you need to consider:

1. A VTR at 18 is a pretty quick motor for an inexperienced driver, £800 tpft is a bargain and offers more reason to go fully comp!

2. There are 2 ways to lower your next premium:
# Get older - thats the easy one since most of us grow automatically
# Build up a No Claims Bonus, some companies offer named drivers the ability to build their own no claims, you should consider these companies too.

Just the advice of someone who went tpft on a VTS because it was a cheap quote, now my VTS is in the bin & im out of pocket...

Alway wondered how that worked :panic:

IMO mate, u are far better off taking out ur own policy, I went through two years of payin 150 a month, now down to 70 with 2 years NCB, by the time ur 21 (provided u dont crash etc) you'll be cheap as fook on insurance!!!!!!!

Insurance does not just go on age, there are a million factors insurers take into account when working out policies, here are most of em:

Age
Sex
NCB
How long Licence Held
Postal Code Area
Any Prior Claims
Any Prior Convictions
Mods
Engine Size
BHP
Insurance Group
Value of the Car
Age of the Car
Make/Model (Sporty Cars are going to be higher)
Occupation
How Many Claims the companies had had recently on your model of car
If The person you are speaking to has had a bad day (Seriously)

Those are most of em but i have probably missed some out. That is why some people are paying £2000 on a 1.1 and some people are paying £900 on a VTR. You could have two people with exactly the same values of all the above and try to insure the exact same car and get two completely different prices from the same company.

There is a logic to insurance but i dont think anybody will fully understand it. Anyway i pay £850 Fully Comp on my Furio, 19, Zero No Claims and Two Years Driving Experience.

£837 for 6 months on a 1.0.... so thats about £1674 for a year. lol

some insurance companys want the car registared in the main drivers name, which means your dad will legaly be the owner. id hate my dad to be the owner of my car cos he would have the power to take it off me
i payed the £837 for my independance, but how the hell am i going to get the other 6 months of independance haha :panic:

i bought the car, mot'd it, taxed it, insured it, cleaned it and filled it up using all of my university loan and summer job money. i call it commitment, now... wheres my medal!! lol
