I've never seen a twin engined saxo myself, anything is possible if you have the financial backing.
Not sure about having a turbo whilst having tb's, cant recall anyone else doing it?

Pug performance were doing a twin engined saxo both gti6 engines. Will it ever work or ever be finished is the question though.
Not aware of anyone doing any other twin engine saxo yet

With the exception of 3 twin bike engined examples I've never been that impressed with having 2 engines in a car. Too much weight.
I'm a bit weightist though as it hampers accelleration, braking and cornering.

Apart from Twin Engined Golfs, RSturbos, 306s not seen a Saxo or 106 twin engined but Zcars (no Not the Black&White police TV show) have done a rear engine Saxo with a TypeR unit in the back, Ive also see a RSturbo rear engined 106, 4x4Cossie Fiestas and a Fiat Panda with a V8 in the back but thats about as crazy as Ive seen.
Like mentioned above, Thinking 'outside the box' away from 8v to 16v swaps can produce some crazy results but like most things to do with cars . . .

The saxo with the type R bellongs to a chap called Ross. He runs Swatspeed and is a lovely chap. Kit is £5.5k but fab. Therefor a twin engined saxo could be done if you have a fair bit of wedge. May be able to manage it for sub 15k all in

So have you seen the car in the flesh? Impressive looking stuff in a mag but to see it and hear it run . . . top stuff.
Im all for thinking outside the box, just wish I could afford too as well :-(

Thinking out of the box is great, without it nothing would progress or get bigger and faster push the limits etc etc etc...
However theres a vast difference between people who can do it and the 5 millionth thread from a youth that cant even drive a vtr well never mind the dream of putting in a 12 litre spitfire engine.
We all know from just a first written post if someone is serious, someone seriosu will be questioning technical parts, fabrications, electronics etc....
Not just: "it fits in a nova, therefore it must fit in everyother hot hatch in the world and i dont want to pay more than 200 quid"
Think out of the box but lets be serious about it and evaluate things correctly. The cost of say a 2 litre engine into a saxo would be far greater than some mods to the vts engine that would get you the same power and potentially far more reliably to. However if some one is seriously commited then there is a far different manner about their posts that get noticed and treated seriously

Not seen it run, they get a bit miffed if you start driving around hall 7 of the NEC but I'd argue that yo don't need to see it running to see that its a bit clever.

yes the PP saxo has the twin gti set up.
however the problem is the project is taking time (not PPs fault i should add)
and the owner isnt having it done to be a track car, he is also having a 1 off bodykit etc...
its just being done because he can.

I'm totaly with you Scott, however, perhaps people on here that know their stuff could think about using these "silly" questions as a forum for exchanging serious ideas and potential solutions to the problems rather than just poo pooing them because the question poser appears not to have the ability or money to complete.
I'm not picking a fight here but it seems that for every "silly" engine sugestion there's an army of people who put the idea down and just have the vts to offer in exchange, I mean, if we make enough silly sugestions then it'll sew the seed of thaught with someone some were.
I don't see why the cost of a 2.0 into a saxo needs to be thaught of as "so vastly expensive", after all, if we're to assume the finished project will include things like tbs then the 2.0 installation will have the stand alone ecu in the first place so can be off set against the cost of having to do it later on the vts conversion, infact, people seem to spend the money on a vts conversion then later go on to spend out on the stand alone any ways, so weighing it up as a total cost for conversion and later mods I'll put my neck out and go so far as to suggest allot of people are spending more, over time, on playing for things twice.

Yep as said anything is possible if you have the money! Ive seen a mini (austin mini) with two 2litre v-tec engines both turbo'd and with nos. Producing an amazing 1100 bhp!! :homme:

The problem is that the thread starters never state why they want to do the conversions.. what they want to achieve.. which makes it difficult to help steer the project in a better direction
Putting a different engine in the front should IMO only be done if the engine gives you a significant gain over the original or gives you something that isn't achievable on the original lump. Mi16 into a Pug 205 makes sense.. it just drops straight in. Mi16 into a Saxo doesn't as the fabrication time involved means that a faster 1.6 16v can be built for the same cost.
Adding a 2nd engine in the back may give you 4wd but at some cost. The gain in standing start acceleration is offset by a significant increase in weight that compromises handling and allround performance. Not everyone lives their life a 1/4 of a mile at a time.
Remember the F2 Kit cars were faster than the WRC cars on tarmac around 2003 before they were restricted further engine wise. Those were all FWD. Worth thinking about why they are faster when you are considering 4wd

fair enough, it's just that for me, I want to know the technical reason behind an answer so I can decide for my self and not just rely on blind faith and "because the fella on titernet says so" , after all, a good parent would'nt just say "don't touch the kettle", they'd say "don't touch the kettle, it's hot and you'll burn yourself".
