Im currently looking for an aftermarket enclosed air filter for my Vtr! I know that alot of you will recomend the BMC CDA, Simota Enclosed, Green etc but the majority of them are out of my price range! I spoted these on ebay and was wondering if anyone has one, or has any past experience of them! They look pretty similar to the BMC and are real carbon fibre unlike some of the others you see that are only plastic!

Personally I think too many people get too hung up on brandage and bugets.

Not everyone can afford the very best equipment ie BMC, Coil overs, etc etc
Ok some of the cheaper items may not perform as good as their more expensive competion But if your on a budget I don't see a problem.

I had a Green enclosed scoop and was very dissapointed I decided to go back to a open filter and went for a budget item, and its fine.

Either will ok (in my opioun) as long as you give the filter a good enough feed of cold air via the pipe supplied, remember even a enclosed filter (which is protected from the heat under the bonnet still need a fresh cold air, do that and they should be fine :-)

Great value for money, work even better if you pop a Green filter in them.

with the cheaper induction kits the piece that to me is lacking in quality is the filters. Thats why many replace the Raceland filter with a Green one.. which most certainly is a decent bit of kit

The BMC are down to £160 in Halfrauds now, you cant really go wrong when their that low in price.

I had a green filter in my "budget" induction on my old VTR and it worked well

Yep I had a enclosed filter in a scoop Green as it happens, but went back to an open filter with a Heat Shield.

This one, I got off eBay, bit dark but you can just make out the Black heat Shield between and under the the cone and the engine.

This kit was for a 106GTi and has a Heat Shield with a opening underneath for cold air feed, Standing starts are better with open, pick up once moving mainly motorway speeds was better with the scoop, but on whole I preffer the open cone to be honest
