what will this do to the performance?

the cat restricts the air flow of the exhaust fumes so de-catting it means that the cat is no longer there so the is ALOT less restriction.
depending what other mods you have you will see a gain of 4-8bhp

youll feel this difference like. i had a raceland filter and cat back... soon as i got it de-catted it went through the revs easier and just seemed faster lol

it has been put on hold, i looked at my downpipes and the cat is on the manifold at the top, so ill need a 4-1 branch manifold :(

it is illegal to de-cat a vehicle registered after 1993 as it will fail its MOT emissions - translation 'do it, enjoy it and change it back for the MOT!'
my work here is done!

Cat acts like another siliencer, and it basically restricks gase flow in the exhaust. Remove it and replace it with a decat and gas flow will be increased.
Don forget though your need it back in for MoT time.
