Ok, Bit of a cross section thread this but I feel its in the correct section.
I have already started stripping unnecessary weight from out of the Inside of the car but my question is, Is there any unnecessary weight that can be removed from under the Bonnet in the Engine Bay?
I can only think of the ECU cover and the Centre cover between the two rocker covers can anyone think of anything else? that can be removed which wont affect the running of the car on a daily basis (so I really do need to keep stuff like the washer bottle)
:clapping: Cheers guys

Will the back seats are gone alone with the parcel shelf, need to get a smaller driver so I can get the rear covers off the Rear Seat Belt mountings (you know the side bits that support the parcel shelf) once there out Im gona lose the rear quater/door cards.
Just wondered if there was anythin I didnt really need under the bonnet :y:
If not I'll have to go on a diet :panic:

if its going to be a track only car you could remove washer bottle but then you might need it if screen gets mucky
theres the carpet bit under bonnet
cant think of anything else apart from them

Nar still gota keep it road legal so washer bottle stays - Bonnet sound deadin went ages ago :-) so I could hear more from my induction kit!
Helps melt the ice off the bonnet quicker too ;-)

relocate battery to rear end of car if your worried about front end weight.
the engine bay doesnt have lots of clutter in it tbh to start with.

Move the battery to the boot of your car mate. That will help balance the car out a bit more.

Ive already done a thread about that, and once the suspension is sorted Im gona get a mate to help me do it all I need is a motorsport Battery Box and some new cable :y: Seen a AX Turbo with the battery in the back and Mexicos used to run with batteries in their boots. So Im already onto that

Will the covers fit the S head? I thought the C2 had a big vavle-head dosent that make a difference to the rocker covers? or is it a direct fit.
As for the rest Im already got a Janspeed Mild Steel 4-2-1 manifold and full janspeed exhaust so Ive alreay done that.
Stupid quest but Im still gona ask it - will the ECU be ok with out the plastic cover on it? (I know it will just like someone to say - Yes Chris, It will be Fine) :homme:

ecu will be fine without cover not all cars had em standard anyhow
ive always wanted to relocate the ecu and battery elsewhere makes the engine much easier to keep clean and makes engine bay look miles better i think

Sod the engine bay! Get some perspex windows with a little flap so you hand your timing slips though it.

is it worth taking your rocker and ecu cover off?
maybe you MIGHT gain 0.00000000000000000000000001 seconds of your 1/4 mile.

cut the supports from the inside of the bonnet so that its just a skin...
An alloy rad will also save some weight

you said about a mild steel manifold, problem is - mild steel weighs a bloody tonne! dont know what else can manifold could be made out of, but anything lighter would be best!
