Wobbly Knob!

My gear knobs really loose both in gear and out, was wondering if there is a pib that can be tightend to reduce the play in the box??

provided your gear lever's not been too abused then wear and tear in the linkage mechanism? best if you could get underneath car and take a look at it - if you've got the haynes then it's section 7a you want. there's a simple diagram of the system. your problem could be worn link rods - if so they wouldn't be too difficult or a great expense to replace. also read somewhere on here that changing pin attaching bracket from higher small link rod to gear box can help - but i dunno how easy it is to get the old one out or a new one in lying on your back... really you need to get underneath the car and check out where's loose first - if you can isolate a worn part then you can always go citroen and get them to print out an exploded diagram of all the parts involved so you can order what you need.
