This has probably been asked 1000's of times before.
I have been offered a Viper Induction kit with cold air feed for 130 quid, mint condition. My firs question is - Is that a good price?
Number two, does anybody know or have any educated guesses what BHP i would gain on a 1.4 furio?.
Finally does anybody know if these are loud?
Any help would be apreciated

is it second hand? coz i think you will be better off gettin a bmc carbon cold air intake for bout 150 or 160, ther ment to be much better and last longer or an k&n apollo or about 150ish. prob wont see much difference in bhp thou, hant really notices much difference with my 57i k&n

Dont think the Viper is as loud as other open filters.
£130 is a good price as they are around £250 brand new but check the condition first!
Cant really say what gains your looking at but the car may be able to breathe
a little better that the standard unit.
Either way its going to be better than an open filter which is the most
important thing.

laurie dont expect much gains but expect some noise. seems a decent price, id knock him down to 100, then say split the difference at 115 :P

There will be some gain though right?

minimul, if it was a vts id only say around 3-4 bhp so its not like your gonna notice anything. the piper will look nice in the bay though and offer increased noise, otherwise you could get an open one just for noise which would be cheaper

yea your feel a bit of a gain, but not massive until it coupled up with other breathing mods - de-cat, manifold etc. Will sound good, i read somewhere that Viper say it can give a VTS another 8bhp but i dont know?

there is no such thing as an induction kit (air filter) that produces anywhere near 10bhp!! the most you will get from, even the "best" one would be about 3-4 bhp (on a VTS)

plus they are probably tested in a wind tunnel with ice cold air in order to state 10bhp increase
