I want another Group N OMP Staright through, but not sure, ive heard they sap power from VTS's.
So Magnex or scorpion is other option.
What is the best option for power. Dont car about noise levels, just want as much power as possible.
Also been offered a custom stainless steel job for £200, but do these actually offer any gains?

best exhaust is btb
but you will have trouble finding 1 and if you do there not cheap
who told you they sap power
piper, magnex, scorpion will all do

So a group n omp will not sap power??
will it gain power though??

My mate has a group n omp on his mk1 vts, sounds wicked and we have felt nothing but gains since fitting :)

i dont see why it would lose performance
unless its a very bad design

because the 1" end can is restrictive.

that could be a problem
it also depends on the bends and silencers in it
if it works on a vtr why shouldnt it work on a vts though

because the 1" end can is restrictive.
Ive been told thats why and how they create so much back pressure giving better gains!

If its no compremise then OMP stainless steel system will see the most gains.
Most off the shelf 'performance exhausts' are just for road tuned cars - when was the last time you saw a 4" Magnex on a Rally car? For the best gains you have to buy the best items and for the VTS thats surely the OMP exhaust.
Joined with a Performance manifold, cams and enclosed filter and obversley decat you could see a very good return on you money

i went for a 3.5" Magnex with Decat pipe. £348 from POTN.
Hopefully much better than my daft Jansport heap of crap

Why do people say the BTB is the best exhaust????
Its is potentially but not technically! Would be pointless on a near standard
car. Better of with Magnex. Great exhausts that sound perfect imo.

POTN called first thing, Magnex out of stock for 4-5 weeks. Same story everywhere.
So called CAS, best known exhaust centre in scotland.
They informed me they make a custom straight through Full system with no boxes or restrictors other than the backbox.
You can choose any backbox style.
The exhaust has a 2.25 or 2.5" bore.
It is designed with performance in mind, and GAURANTEES 10bhp increase alone due to the huge amounts of backpressure.
It is also Fully Gauranteed for 10years.
£250 fitted.
Booked in for friday.

Magnex, Scorpion, Janspeed, Piper etc are all road exhaust and will offer a good gain over standard exhaust systems.
But Group N and A are designed to improve perofmance as much as they can within the competion noise regulations.
The reason the Group N system has small tailpipes is (I think Im rite) becuase this generates a high level of Back Pressure which in NA (Non Blown -turbo/superCharged) is very important.
Only problem is not everyone could live with 1 the raspy note (due to the size of the tailpipe) and 2 the look of the small tialpipe.
This (I reckon) is the best exhaust money can buy - the BTB system is only for Very high powered cars and on a mildly tuned engine would lose power not add it.

If Magnex is what your after then this is what it will look like - Horriable Huge siliencer that doesnt fit under the car (Sorry Im very Anti Magnex) but I will accept it is a good performer all be it a quiet one

10bhp thats quite a good gain for a exhaust, look forward to seeing the pics once its done, Im looking to have the same style of exhaust fabricated as Im not paying £300+ for the OMP plus I want to keep my sports cat for MoT time.
I take it your going to decat it as well?
