Hi All,

Newbie alert !!! ;)

Just a quick question. There seems to be a bubbling noise on startup and I'm not sure of the cause. The temp gauge normally sits pretty high after a while....about 3/4 way. It's had a new rad not too long ago (prev owner tho). No apparent leaks. There's no mayo in the oil. It's only got 70-odd thousand on the clock. Should I replace the 'stat too as I saw people mention the diff between an 82 deg and an 88 deg one. Which one would be better?

Any ideas folks ?

It's got me head wrecked with the self-revving problem too but I'm waiting for a Coolant Temp Sensor and hope that will solve the problem.

Also, one of the abs sensors is gone but I don't know which one and I wanna order it online (I'm in Ireland and parts are ridiculous prices over here). There's no Citroen dealer near to have it diagnosed so is there a way to check without this?

Thanks for all your patience.

Yep sounds like a themo problem, I had alot of temp problems with my S, pick yourself up a thermo and seal set from a main dealer and pretty cheap (I always use main dealer stuff when I can unless its an uprated part) then change it over.

Mite be worth flushing the system out and getting all new fresh water and anti freeze/summer coolant in the system while your doing it if your up to 70k.

Watch out for air locks when you start it all up again this will show as high temps and no heat out of the heater inside the car, over fill the system and rev the engine to release the air in the block then let the car find its own level - Job done :-)
