Well I seen an advertisment for a car and it said "quickshit kit brand new, never fitted" came with the car.
Also not long ago i was having a look at a subrau wrx sti and the first thing i noticed was the gears, they felt weirdddd (but good) like really short or something, is that quick shift?
Just want some info on it really if that is it, whats it do? easy to install? im guessing no!

just shortens the throw of the gearstick or replaces the gearstick, theres a couple available which are easy to fit aswell. all been discussed leo so have a gander.
some newer cars are fitted with short throws like civic type r etc but some older cars have long throws which can be shortened quite alot

A quick shift or short shift is what it says it is -
A item that shortens the throw between the gears there by allowing you to change gear quicker ergo improving your 0-60 times and generally improving the feel of the shift making it tighter and more direct.
Alot of people over look these and spend fortunes on engine.
B&M are the most well known company that make these items, one for the saxo cost around £80-£100 depending on where you get it, its worth mentioning over compaines offer quickshifts/short shift

some people only change the linkage and retain the original lever. The B&Ms come with a stainless steel gearlever which looks pretty spiffy.

B&M are very good for the saxs
it makes it alot more postive and shorter throw, as saxo gearboxs throw are like a magic wand flying every where and not very postive at all
they are good put that way but cost a bit
