I've got a Pro-Race or what ever its called. The one from ebay. Im not too happy with it, as it dosn't line up to the gearbox properly. Been thinking about getting a new one, probably GMC!

I did get a Supersprint 4-2-1 manifold but never got it fitted. They have
been recommened on the Saxo/106 scene from since I can remember.
If its tired, tested and good then thats all that I care about, and thats
the Supersprint for you!

^^ LOL
The raceland one is only an option if you cant splash out a bit more money
from what Ive heard.
The GMC ones look good but issues of ground clearance and plus the fact
that a 4-1 influences the engine higher up the rev range kinda puts me off.

Supersprint is a bit pricey. looking at around £300 inc postage I think.
I ordered mine for the GTi from my mates place. Was about that price.

I'm in exactly the same boat as you!:n: Pro-Tech? I just want rid of it! If I had the time id put the standard one back on! I want a 4-1 probably a GMC. Is it just GMC who make 4-1s??
rushy_23
3rd March 2007, 15:55
Sure there must be other 4-1s around. Not too sure.

Soo many to choose from, its very hard to say what to get unless you have experimented with all of them....

I've got a heatwrapped CArworx 4-1 manifold. Noticed a difference - especially from 3000rpm onwards, just keeps going whereas before it slugged all the up.
Get a 4-1 for a VTR whatever.
Karl
5th March 2007, 10:38
how much are GMC and for an S is it better to get 4-2-1 or 4-1?

5th March 2007, 10:52
I have a gmc :)
I was walking to some one on msn the other that has had the gmc 4-1 but now has a stainless 4-2-1 supersprint, he said the gmc sounds alot better but the super sprint is better performance wise!?
vtr_driver
6th March 2007, 15:17
From what I've read for a VTR the 4-1 manifold is the best to go for. I was looking at the GMC 4-1's which are approx £250 I think. I'll hopefully be purchasing one around May time LOL

Well, before i voted i expected to see a big long block for the GMC, i'm pretty shocked!
I'v got a raceland 4-2-1 but onoly because Kam-Racing put on such a good deal for us, still havnt got round to fitting though

6th March 2007, 15:57
Gmc are expensive thats why.
MaRiO89
6th March 2007, 17:02
For price, value and performance the raceland one is the best imo, its over £100 cheaper than GMC ones etc. As for quality well the exhaust place who fitted it were very impressed with it..
There will be drawbacks compared to the others i expect but your saving over £100 which could be spent elsewhere on other mods! :)
riggsy
6th March 2007, 17:06
Gmc is 4-1 though so the power is different, maybe thats why its more expensive....

I have a milltek 4-2-1 on my vts, quality seems good so pretty pleased with it.
i had a gmc 421 on the vtr and now have a raceland to go on the vts.
the gmc was a good mod for the vtr, seemed to pull alot better when fitted, but i fitted it along with a full system, decat and green cotton filter.
not got the raceland on the vts yet, will post the diff when its on :)
