if you can get a complete rear beam in good condition then that could cover off all these items
new rear beam,
new rear trailing arms, bushes,
dampers (rear),
rear disks and pads,
Tyres i'd get from mytyres, blackcircles or etyre. Shop aroundn and you can get a cheap deal. Alternatively get a part worn. I bought 4 tyres with 6mm tread on them for my Omega for less than half the price of anywhere else.

any ideas why the dip stick keeps popping up!???? Is it just to do with the pressure in the crankcase being to high & the rings???
What are the other reasons for it breathing heavy!????
C'mon lads.....!???

If there is any doubt about the chassis' alignment, then to be honest walk away and scrap it. To professionally (ie safely) re- jig a chassis will cost several hundred pounds alone, anything less is likely to be a bodge job and may endanger yourself and other road users. Any doubts at all, then don't throw money at it.
The dipstick popping up could be many causes ranging from a worn dipstick seal (pennies) to worn piston rings, but could be inadequate crankcase ventilation - what's your set up? You could also drill the dipstick tube and the dipstick and secure with a split pin if nothing else works!

if the chassis is ok, then repair it, if its damaged... get rid of it, sell it for parts or wotever.

I am having the car looked at properly by my mechanic, senior pug mechanic and now business owner and a mate of his who used to work for regal now works for him, and he has built many monsters like the twin engine golf! Dont worry i wont the best for the car too and clearly will be advised accordingly. Its my hobbie, pride & joy... what needs doing needs doing!
My set up is nothing to hardcore - BMC, 4 branch - no cat stright through exhaust, mocal 13row oil cooler, fast road clutch - just a little more clamping pressure really - , i did have a 106 rallye box for a while but the diff started moaning, so VTR box went back in, thats it for engine at the moment, you may need to know its done 134k though!
come to think of it i did pull out a small "thing" ages ago wen checking the oil, would this be anythingto do with the problem!? How do you fit the seal? is it in the dipsticks pipe!?
