put the head back on the 106 gtisaxo vts engine today

now the manual says that the belt should be marked with tooth numbers 1, 52 and 72

we marked it up and put it on. everything seemed fine, but we are now concerned that the flywheel locking hole (where youre surposed to put a 6mm X through to lock the flywheel) wasnt put in correctly.

with this hole, is there a metal plate there with a 6mm hole or is there a biger hole that your surposed to find the centre of by eye and locate teh hole on teh flywheel. or is it a groove on the flywheel?

has any1 got any pics of the hole? as next to it there is a another little hole about 4mm??

???? any ideas?

To be certain you can stick a zip tye down the first spark plug hole. Cam side, making sure its at TDC, mid point.

yes we are going to try and makesure the first piston is tdc when the groove is in place/centre

although when we seem to get the groove in place the timing dosnt look right

its a grove in the flywheel, u cant see it all u do is put a 5mm allan key through the locating hole and rotate the crank till it drops in the grove (this happends when bottom end is at TDC) u might be able to remove the big plastic bung below the locating hole and feel up with your finger to feel the grove. i replyed to your pm you sent me oh and jsut so u know u wont lock it with a 6mm allan key has to be 5mm.
