Center Section - Resinator??

Well after purchasing my new Supersprint center section i went to attempt to get it fitted and when i had taken the old cetner section out and put i next to the new supersprint one it was the wrong center section. So halfords are now ordering the correct part of attempting to tell me its my fault for choosing the wrong one, even though they pick it out the book.

Anyhow, i thought myself that the standard saxo center section had a resinator which acts as a silencer, however as you can see from the pictures this doesnt seem to be the case.

Can anyone clarify this for me?

whats a resinator ... never heard of that you mean a silencer

a standard center section does have a silencer but your old one isnt a standard center section

how much did you pay halfrauds for that ... ive just bought one for £54

and why you bought it ... your old one is exactly the same as a supersprint one you want???

your old 1 looks the same as the supersprint decat middle section without a silencer iv just bought?

the supersprint you will get from halfrauds is gona look exactly like your old one.. you old one is deff not tandard as the do have a silencer..

Check the bore size of it, if its 2inch bore then it might just be a supersprint centre section

Can i just ask have has your car got the cat in the manidold or under the car??

you can mix and match the center sections depending on where your cat is... the new pipe u have just got is a cat back center section for a saxo with the cat under the car and to decat it you would need to buy another pipe to replace the cat.. or you could buy the full center section for a saxo with the cat in the manifold what looks like your old one and then that would be a staright through decatted middle section with no joints..... lol hope this makes sense..

yer thats deffo a racing centre section...the one you get from halfords with look exactly the same just black and new. Does your car sound loud with that center section that you have got on now??

Im thinking of getting one but unsure because of the noise

Well they have ordered the wrong one basically.

So i am now awaiting a Supersprint center section for mk2.

It cost me £63.16

And its definately a standard center section that i've taken off, the new one seems as if its just going to be a bigger bore.

Bit pissed off really, thought i'd be removing the silencer.

And it isnt that noisy with a 4" Piper Slashcut.

yeah the only differance will be the bigger bore, the supersrpint is 2" bore n i think the standard is 1" 3/4.. i wouldnt of bothered if i was you mate, could of saved 63 quid :n:

What a shitter tbh.

Basically i've ordered the first time, they sent the wrong part.

Then they re-ordered a 2nd part, wrong again.

And now im awaiting delivery of the next part.

So 3rd time lucky, a student with a part-time job and could have saved £63.

Tad pissed off to say the least, really thought there was a silencer on the center pipe :@

the centre section u have doesn't need to have a silincer in it some of the saxo's and pugs don't have a silencer all depends on engine size and year of car bud so don't worry

my old furio centre section was exactly the same, I just put a magnex back box on the end and left it, thought it sounded quite nice!

im guessing by the colour its a mk2 and that center section looks like the cat in manifold center, supersprint is from teh cat under car. but if thast a standard center section it should hvae 1 silencer in.

some of the saxo's done have silencers in them due to year and size bud that's what in our exhaust book at work here is the one i think could be for ur car
