i went to wakefeild cruise last night,

all was well un-till bout 9ish when the rozzers turned up and told us we had 10mins to leave or we all be arrested.

no-one was doing any harm peeps where just looking at cars and there was a film crew there filming an stuff but they turned up and told us all to leave

IS'NT THERE ANY BURGLARIES OR ROBBERIES IN WAKEY THAT THEY COULD BE SOLVEING OR STOPPING smileys/smiley7.gif

anyway thats my thoughts wot do you all think.

So you're off to a cruise to chill and chat. Then the rozzers turn up, and bring their toys..... including a video camera.

No doubt you're all aware that under the Data Protection Act of 1998 (DPA here (http://www.hmso.gov.uk/acts/acts1998/19980029.htm), you can demand a copy of the footage in which you are recorded. This has to be done in writing to the relevant Police Station, and they have to comply within 40 days... its the law!

BUT.......
Whilst recently swatting up on the DPA.... I found that you can also issue the Police with a letter (in this section HERE (http://www.hmso.gov.uk/acts/acts1998/80029--b.htm#10), informing them that they are NOT to record you! PMSL! The only exeptions are if you are in the process of committing a crime, or they have strong reason/evidence to suggest you are about to commit a crime. Which, if you're parked up.... you're not commitin a crime... so they can not record you.... its the law!
You must do this in writing.

Under subsection 10, part 4, I am entitled to seek court action if you are found to be recording images of myself on any video retrieval system.

Nah. Cars standard on steels so i'd only get severely mocked if i went. Just in contact with those on YC and a couple of mates that pop along every now and then.

Never been to Ponty myself, few of my mates with corsa sports always go down, i'd either tag along with them or have drive down myself if any one wants to meet up? PM me if yer do.

At the end of the day they are doing their job, if they're having a bad day then that is likley to affect how they treat you. it is best to bend over and kiss ass cos they're more likley to let yer off, then you have a rant about it later on.

Mate of mine got done doing 92 on the motorway, the cop said to him, look mate i clocked you over the top of the hill doing 98, you could see my car, you had a chance to slow down, clocked you doing 92 past me, i got no choice. He was canny about that, it was just unlucky on my mates side that he never saw the polis car.
