does anyone have a make and part number for a lower temp thermostat than a standard one

Don't know but why would you want a lower temperature one? The engine is more efficient the hotter it is. If anything you'd want a higher temperature one, especially for winter use when the engine runs cooler with the standard one fitted.

If you want one, get one listed for a GTi6, rated to 82 instead of 88 degrees.

On a similar vane, does anyone know if there is one available which opens at a higher temperature to counter colder weather?

you dont want a higher temp! the saxos run between 1/2 way to 3/4's allready. and the reason people want a lower temp is for modified engines such as cammed engines etc that will run hotter.
