Ive seen that the vts is good for nearly 30bhp from just the above, which is pretty sweet. But what combinations are you guys using to get outputs like these? I was thinking a forced air induction from ecosse and then a miltek/janspeed full stainless!? any ideas? also by leaving the cat on are you loosing much power?

Also does a forced air induction use up more petrol? ive heard they dont but it seems very doubhtful.

a straigh through exhaust would proove v.handy in
giving those extra horse's but it's not advised as it's
not insurance friendly at all smileys/smiley3.gif
a forced induction kit should not use up mutch more
petrol , i have heard rumour's of it doing so . . .
should not happen though , if you do find that it does
then i would suggest and ecotek filter - less trip's
to the petrol station i promise you smileys/smiley17.gif

so the ecotek improves petrol consumption? Hows that work? what sort of power gain do you get?

im not sure to be honest but it uses up waste gase's
so you get quite a noice rasping sound with it aswell

LMBO! © sax-p!!! ecotek where done for false advertising.... so from that i'm asuming it doesnt make a difference!!

do any filters reduce petrol consumption?

a filter wont make fule consumption higher, a heavy foot willsmileys/smiley17.gif
If you can afford it get the ecosse filter or the green enclosed or the BMC enclosed.
The best PROVEN exhaust on a saxo is the GMC/BTB one but its certainly not cheap, a straight through exhaust you would probably find will make a big noise but if anything would probably loose you power unless your running a turbo or serious power

but isnt the whole point of inductions kits that they suck in more dense air and more air=more petrol.

no the engine sucks in the air, by having the better filter then you are allowing more colder air to be sucked in, the engine can only suck in as much as you let it, i.e. you press the accelerator down and it opens the butterfly in the throttle body, this is what allows the air into the engine, the more you press the accelerator the more you open the throttle which lets in more air and thats when you will use more fuel.

yeah but still, even with the new filter you say it sucks in colder/denser air whcih in turn would use more petrol right?

well ok it may use a little more but not really much of a noticeable difference

@powerhungry: would the 270miles per tank be blammed on the de-cat?
@butch: Why are janspeed crap? i had one and thought it was great!?
What do you guys think of miltek?

I've got the bmc induction kit and just a magnex back box, the filter has definaetly given me more power, but still not enough to out run a saxo with full exhaust.
as for petrol i don't quite know or care. i just like the power!!!!
