Had this problem since i bought the car, basically the Lambda (Oxygen) sensors were playing up, took it back to the garage they reset the fault code told me to come back if it came back on.

3 days later travelling down a motorway at 80mph, and the light pops back on, took it back they reset the fault code and replaced both the Lambda sensors.

was all ok until yesterday whilst i was at the coast, giving a bit of wheelie down a slip ramp, and on came the light again :panic: .

I have a feeling its the sensors again, I would like to know before i take it back again, whether the light will come on if the emissions spike on high revs, or whether there is a possible major problem, or if any one has any ideas what it could be!?

The warrentee runs out in under 2 months and i want them to sort it out, just would like some ideas so i can tell them where to look, or even fix it myself (the garage i bought it from is nearly 40 mins from my house).

Thanks, Dennis.

Edit: sorry wrong section, can a mod please move it to the problems section!!

It can come on fo SO many reasons, some more serious than others. I can't see why the sensors would fail again, they normally last! Why don't you get yourself a engine diagnostics checker. I picked one up on Ebay for about £15. It's pretty useless if you want to do anything else, but it does read the fault well, and you can then look them up...

I don't know about the spike question you mentioned, but normally emissions take time for the light to come on, so I doubt it, but I'm not totally sure on that. As it's still under warrantly, I guess you're going to have to make that 40 min drive back to the garage mate.
