Got my car on 90k so its had all the major stuff done like cambelt etc..
Every 5-10k i just change the oil, oil filter, air filter and every 20k do my plugs. the gearbox was rebuilt not long ago so no need to do gearbox oil as for the brakes well i just change pads and discs when they are needed..

really easy, best thing to do is buy a Haynes manual and a basic toolkit then go from there. Buy your parts from www.eurocarparts.com or look on ebay for service kits.

i spent shit loads on parts at 70k. done mine at 62k though as i like to keep on top of it.
parts i bought were
belt
tensioner
idler pulley
water pump
head gasket
exhaust manifold gasket + studs
inlet manifold seals
head skimmed
head bolts
fuel filter
oil filter
oil
renewed coolant
camshaft oil seals
probably some other things i ahve forgetting. i always do my own servicing and just fill the book in myself. so theoretically it has FSH :P

I'm the same. Although there's one thing I can't seem to do, and that's the fuel filter. If anyone has any tips, I'd appreciate it! The haynes manaul goes on about de-pressurising the fuel system... Is that really got to be done?

Nothing wrong with servicing the car yourself, besides after about 40k-60k most people wouldnt take a car to a main dealer anyway plus the stamps in the book will start to tail off as most people arent so bothered on an old car as it just goes in when it needs something.
Apart from the Cam belt which is a MUST then nothing more than a good normal service, nothing wrong with what Williams done I'll probally do the same around the 85k-90k mark but its all upto you and really depends how long your gona keep the car and how you use it :y:
I do mine myself, only thing I wouldnt attempt is cambelt.
I need to do one pretty soon me thinks.

Impressive stuff mate, would you strongly recommend having the head gasket changed and all that goes with it around the 90k mark?
Im on about 80k at present :( and Im looking towards the future
Would also be worth having valves checked at that kinda mileage?

Haha. I tried that, but I couldn't get the pipe at either end to come off. Am I doing something wrong?
Im getting citroen to do a full service for £200, as ive just got the car. Get all gaskets done at same time & a cambelt..
Then from then on ill do it myself. - Although i always worry about some noob using my car as a practise box.

I thought the same!
Seems very cheap for a main dealer and what your having done, my missis Micra 1.2 cos nearly that for its service and all they done was oil and air filters plugs and not much else.
Good luck to ya if it is that cheap :clapping:
