Engine Gone Bang

I was driving home from work today and my engine started tapping really loud know it wont even keep running when started just cuts out.
any ideas what this is it is a real loud tap coming from the top end on vts and does anyone know anyone selling a vts engine also let me know asap thanks ant

no driving sensibly actually will it need new engine you reckon

dunno, don't know what damage has been done, could be anything, may just need a new head, maybe a head gasket, i really don't know mate!

do you not have AA breakdown cover?

have you checked the oil. when it runs does it miss fire

i had the same thing on my vts about 2 years ago. the AA came said it droped a valve.i got it home took the head off and the gasket had blown between 3 and 4. it still drove it just sounded like a really bad misfire

dont drive at all now think cambelt has gone and yeah oil is always checked and always spottlessly clean good thinkin about aa i'll get my grandad membership
