maxibic on RR..

personally think the spec is ott.. ive read bic complaining somewhere that the cams he is running are not giving him power where he wanted it, so hes thinking about another rebuild..

he had alot of probs out at donny reading on rr, ripped some metal off the car so extra seam welding needs to be done..

Hey my gallery is famous! :p

The actual cost of the car seems to be the biggest talking point from what I've seen. I dont know how much it cost him but I do know from insurance purposes to buy parts and pay labour to have that car built from scratch is around £100k

Theres some vids of it at donny going up sometime today probably - quite naughty, had an anti-lagged scooby blow itself up trying to keep up LOL

Ha ha ha - £100k . . . ?!?!?!?!?!, car could be built for £30k-£35k from a new shell to current spec, I would be depressed if it cost that much ot build and went as fast as it does, pmsl

Cheers for the comments peeps.

They were only minor probs at donny, the lower arm was fixed, although needs attention and after 8 laps or so, the standard intank pug pump was causing an issue and the cossie pump was then drawing mixture of air and fuel through. So we are going to go the whole hog with new incar tank and whatnot, i am sure we can come up with something a bit different and special too !

I can't wait till castle Coombe 21st April, was great to be back out on track again and also realised how out of touch i am (3 years away, lol)

Regarding cam swap, involves engine out and shimming and longmans and peak power increase of 13-15bhp absolute max. After speaking with longmans anything over 220bhp peak power on that engine they consider optimistic (even the works cars they claim didnt make more than that, and if they did was down to that specific engine, luck of the draw, a good one etc etc. Change of cams and 9000rpm would be acheiveable with a potential loss in reliability on standard crank, so if cams come (possibly next year) they will go hand in hand with new crank also. Although after Saturdays sessions, the car is just fine for this year as is, with just the fuel system upgrade and getting the car set up on corner weights etc. . .

Oh and yeah in some of the videos i have done, was filmed around Simpson and MK.

i cant desribe how good the car felt out on track, the whole pakcage was more than i ever expected, wish i could have had more than 3 sessions as by the 3rd was only really then getting used to it.

cheers

Bicston
9th April 2007, 20:23
bullit - yes mate wanted to know max peak power i could get, lack of midrange with these engines is dealt with by the box lol, although it is quite torqey for what it is, but thats not what its about. its being safe in going for steel crank though, for the sake of it wrecking entire engine a grand is madness in not being spent if it goes horribly wrong
