Hey Everyone :)

I have got a 1998 Saxo Vts 16v, so im guessing this will be a 1 plug ? I have got a few questions if someone could answer any please -

- Whats the difference between 1 and 3 plug ?
- Will a 3 plug engine fit mine ? If so how ?
- Also will a pug 307 1.6 16v engine fit mine ? (apparently its the same as a vts/gti engine)

Hope someone can help

Thanks

Rye

by din do you mean a 1 plug or 3 plug ecu? and as for the fitting of the 307 engine, if its the same engine then it would produce the same power so why would you want to fit it?

engien wil fit no probs. you will just need to use your loom and sensors and block off the hole where the 'egr valve' went into.

307 engien isnt the same.

Sorry, yeh i meant 1 plug / 3 plug. I didnt think the 307 was the same but a guy tried to sell me one saying it was the same 1.6 16v but they just have different covers on lol.. i just walked away.

So a face lift 2003 model 3 plug will fit my 98 model 1 plug. just need to block of the egr valve ?

yeah.

not sure if the 307 engien is the same as the 206/c2?? if it is it will easilly fit, just need to drill adn tap some holes for the inlet manifold. you may need a custom exhaust manifold aswell.

Ive seen a 2003 VTS mk2 engine, so by what your saying this will drop straight into my 1998 mk1 VTS but i will need to block off the egr valve... This 2003 engine comes with gearbox, ecu etc.. anything else i need to do ?

What does 1 plug/ 3 plug mean, is this on about the ecu ?

Also how do you mean block off the valve, with what, sorry ?

Will a C2 VTS engine fit ?

Bump Bump
Will a C2 VTS engine fit??
I need to start sorting out an engine for mine and i want a "new" vts engine, preferebly, i've got a 1998 VTR.
If someone who knos what they're up too would be kind enough to explain wot the score is i'd much appreciate it.
Cheers.

engine will fit but you will need to use saxo vts inlet, throttle body, ecu, loom and sensors. you'll need a custom manifold aswell. as saxo manifold wont fit under c2 sump and c2 manifold wont line up with saxo exhaust.

Cooool! Wot about using a C2 manifold and making a bendy bita pipe wer the cat should be ;) Would that work?!

Worth pointing out as well, the single plug is far less complex than the 3 plug and as such more reliable. Trust me on that!

Wot about the saxo inlet manifold and that Buddy?! And loom etc..?? Will the C2 not fit??

Single Plug?? Three Plug?? Im confused, Wots the difference?? Wot hav i got on my 98 VTR and What would it be on a "new" 03plate on VTS??

They changed from the 1 plug magneti ECU to the 3 plug setup in late 2000 (same ECU is used now on the C2 IIRC, just with more features enabled)

The 3 plug has a load of extra write back features on it and judges fueling by using more perametres (2 llamda sensors etc) and this means in theory it should run smoother.

It doesn't. What it means is that the ECU is more confused when a sensor goes wrong and occasionally takes its own life with using the coilpack. Nice. Therefor you're best off using your current loom and fitting a single plug VTS ECU

Fuck trying to use all that, the C2 uses an electronic inlet (fly by wire) which would be a bitch to put into a Saxo. Just use the Saxo inlet

Coool Man!! Soooo......
Use my ECU thats currently on da car, and loom??
A saxo VTS inlet manifold Providin i hav to use a C2 engine, otherwise just a whole VTS lump??
A custom exhaust but thats fuk all really,
A VTS rad??
And i'll be laffin?!?!
What about gearboxes as u seem to know your shit?? C2 gearbox?? Will it fit a saxo as saxo gear boxes are wank!! Orr r the C2s the same??

No your current ECU and loom wotn work, you need the vts ecu and loom.
Yes either the vts inlet on the c2 lump or just a whole vts lump
Yes advisable to use a vts radiator though people have used the vtr rad.
As far as im aware the c2 uses a different gearbox with different shafts. Though i maybe wrong there so i cant confirm that.

Campo: I thought the c2 lumps used the new BSI ecu system and thats why the Saxo ecu had to be used?

Right i can get hold of a Pug Gti engine from a model around the same year as mine? Is the loom still different?!

only has a single plug therefore its a 1 plug ecu
