Basically I want the best performance I can get from my exhaust system. At the minute it is heading towards 4-2-1 manifold, de cat, standard silencer thing and standard backbox for a bit and then maybe sebring 3". Is this a decent set up, or should I go straight through? Also Im a bit confused about back pressure and straight through systems. Which one is better?
Thanks in advance

The system you mention is fine just remember that the standard silencer and center pipe will be made of mild steel and have a slightly smaller bore in comparison to center sections made by supersprint.
Secondly back pressure, your standard center section will have a resonator (silencer) on it. This reduces noise by making the sound waves cancel each other out, therefore there is less back pressure.
However having to much back pressure, supposedly leads to a power decrease.
If you are purchasing a decent center section and exhaust then they will be made to have specific bends in them that let out the exhaust gases with as little back pressure as possible.
