anyone know the difference between a silver top vtr and a black top vtr

black top has ht leads silver top doesnt it has a coil pack

black top has diffrent cam and cam followers iirc

i did read that the silver top is a 1.4 but i always thought it was 1.6

one is 90 bhp and the other is 98.

The black top and silver top are BOTH 90bhp. The LATER silver top vtr had 98bhp when it came with the 3 plug ecu and the cat in the manifold.

The 1.4 also has a silver top, not sure if early ones came with black top.

Also the black top doesnt have a knock sensor
