250bhp im guessing that its boost your on about.

boost wont kill the rods as fast imo as your not revving as high.

think its 8.5k they rate standard rods to.

sure theres a few boosted homos on stanadard internals.

standard rods are good for about 230-250bhp as itsafastworld said its not so much the problem with the boost though its the higher rev range that cause the problems!

personally id fit some proper rods though. as its better to build it bullet proof first time! than have to rip it appart.

boosted engines dont rev as high but they do produce more torque.
ive got shot peened standard rods in mine and im only changing to forged as ill be running 30psi +150 shot of WON, i was running 18 psi and had no problem, if it wasnt for the nos id be still running standard rods.

quite a few people have had the same problem with the forged rods, i take it you bought them from somewhere cheaper than QEP, a few on SSC are having them machined out to fit.

i got some rods that i had to get machined to fit the crank. When putting them in, the crank would not turn as the edges of the rod hit part of the block.

will be running gas aswell mate so think it will be best to try and get my money bac for the rods and get some from gmc or somewere like that. cant believe that they dont fit. had a word with the people who machine them and they say that its not the best thing to do really.
have the other lads on ssc got them from ossie

I spoke to the bloke he said a new employee got some measurements mixed up with some other rods and said he would replace them for the right ones. Im now asking him why they hit the block and if this is to do with the wrong measurements aswell. Il let you know when i get a reply
