:err: . . . do I want to ask why it has two filters???

Wont that make it even more restrictive? I just thought it was an empty can to somehow improve airflow or something - Weird

Out of the list I would have gone for the one that relocates the cone behind the headlight but each to their own I guess.

Two filters - Why . . .

anything in between the airintake and the engine gives resistance to the flow.

2 filters firstly shouldn't be needed. Just use one good filter.
secondly it could possibly hamper performance.

lol thats what I thought

If it has a CDA style filter surely it would be just as well to dump the cone filter on the end and just have a direct cold air feed into the carbon (look) filter wouldnt it???

Gota admit the Simota filters do look quite good quality if not abit of an odd setup :P:

Just to clarify, the carbon bit DOES NOT have another filter in it. Its purely cosmetic. And completely hollow.

However them Simotas are fecking loud!

There you go! :y:

I would have found it very hard to beleive if it had had two filters.

So off hand, what is the advantage of the carbon box? Ive heard loads of funny stories about putting objects in the flow of induction air to make the air easier to mix with the fuel etc etc

Any ideas?

Looks cool, but I refuse to have a open air filter. Sucking in hot air, not for me my friend. Give me an enclosed air filter any day :)

Maybe it make a better induction noise? who knows.

As long as it fits ok and your happy with the item dont see it really matters.

They do do some nice looking stuff tho Simota

Ive got one of these kits on a VTS ive bought recently but the oil breather pipe hole in the carbon airbox has a grommet in it and there is nothing where the breather pipe should be. Gonna have to get a breather filter but doubt it will plug directly into the rocker cover without the 90deg elbow so am a bit fooked. The kit itself makes a nice noise though.
