In short . . .

Are Uprated Engine + Gearbox mounts worth the money of buying and fitting?

The cars on about 82k so Im looking over the car in the eyes of replacing worn items to contuie my enjoyment out of the car.

Is it worth changing them if they dont need doing or leaving alltogether.

Plus are Poly bushes too firm for engine mounts would I get alot more vibration through the car with uprated engine mounts and gearbox mounts.

I like puttin my foot down and drive spritely sometime but I wouldnt say I trash it Im always worried its gona break lol

We are talking about Saxos remember :y:

Thanx guys

They are worth the money if you drive on track or fast quite often as they can take the "rocking" motion better than standard ones.

Standard ones are made to absorb the vibration but the competition ones are there to stop the engine rocking and apparantly you get alot of vibration through the car with them, cant wait to get mine fitted. Hardcore! ;)

Also i wouldnt bother replacing the normal ones if they are ok, just replace them when they are knackered..

Or

If you are planning on going on track days then i would suggest getting some for that.
Hope this helps. :)

Am I correct in thinking you mentioned uprated gearbox mounts aswell?

Again is this only for track use only?

yeah, thats what i have ordered, only the gearbox one as mine is knackered, lol.

You can use them on the road and if you do fast road driving then i would get some. :)

right i fitted my powerflex lower mount earlier on this evening. went for a little drive and you can feel a little more vibration through the seat when driving but the real difference is when your have the bonnet open and you manually operate the butterly on the throttle normally the engine rocks about 2" back into the car. With my powerflex one this is down to less than 1". Ive no doubt group n it harder than the powerflex but I like mine.

where did you get your powerflex one from? how much was it mate and how hard to fit yourself?

u can get em off ebay ive seen a few on there before, easy to fit ureself if you have a vice as you can use this as a press to press it back in the metal housing, jus twat the old 1 out with a hammer and a bar then fit the new 1

sounds easy enough, let me get this straight, there is 3 mounts on g/box and engine and powerflex only make one of them?

Ryan
