View Full Version : how easy is it to replace engine mounts?

hi, ive recently been servicing my car and found some free play in the right hand engine mount, id like to attempt this myself but how easy is it, i have a haynes manual, but am fairly new to technical side of things so any help would be appreciated, im also goin to replace the other engine mount while im at it. thanks.

I'm doing my gearbox mount soon which is below the battery tray and that one looks simple enough, the others may be harder though..

yeah thats the one i need to do i fink cus my gears dont go in too well anymore, it does look simple enuff in the haynes manual though just undo the bolt by the looks of it, but i just dnt want any nasty surprises like it hasnt got to be aligned properly or nuthin n i dnt want nothing falling out lol!

need to remove battery and battery tray

then get a jack and a block of wood under gearbox to stop it from dropping

then undo i think there 2 13mm and a 17mm could and thats it

lol, yeah the one below the battery looks quite simple, seems like the bolt needs removing then replace the mount and put the bolt back in, job done..

All easier said than done though i expect! ;)

Engine mounts are easy to do buddy,Ull be fine
