Bit off Saxo topic but still - Ive been offered a Toyota Supra - Pre Fast'n'Furious ie the one with pop-up headlights 1988 3.0ltr non turbo with 86k on the clock - for a good price in good condition but there is a suspected head gasket problem :n:

I was quoted around the £200 mark when I though my S's head gasket was damaged (ended up being the thermo) but what du reckon on a head gasket for a 3.0ltr Supra non turbo?

Depending on how much I could be tempted for use at weekends but I reckon it might not be worth.

Any ruff ideas?

Cheers :clapping:

Driving a non turbo 2 tonne supra = poser ;)

I'd stick with the S if i were you tbh, dont really know anythin about their gasketts but i would have to be offered a very good rpice to take a car like that with a suspected gasket issue!

Let it pass is my advice :y:

check parts cost and labour costs. Parts are not going to be in plentiful supply.

Also take into consideration the head may be warped to absolute hell and back, try getting hold of another one cheap.

Might be worth it depending on the costs

Best to ask on there forums and find a good specialist. End of day its all just labour, parts won't be outragous (but may be hard to get as Scott says)

also worth finding out if previously over heated cars go on to suffer other problems too.

and 3.0 non turbo Supra? Wave as I come passed son ;)

You could try 3S sevice centre, they did some work for me on my last car (mr2 turbo) They're all model toyota specialists these days but are still resonably priced though. They're pretty good at giving free advice too ;-)
