To put it short, got a vtr, 8v, 2001 plate & cat is on its way out.
It is been rusting away for sometime now and i can hear it about to go pretty soon. i've got the one where it goes up into the engine, & its slowly rusting & forming a hole just the pipe down from the cat.
Just wondering what price it would be for this particular part? Anything i've got to look into for buying this would be appreciated.
Also was thinking about the paste u can smeer on it, to make it last for few weeks till i have money, any good? Cheers ppl :y:

Hve a search on google mate theres quite a few companies that sell cats pretty cheap. Your will prob be quite expensive as its the manifold one though. Will be a lot cheaper if you fit it yourself. Not sure on whther the top bit of the manifold is separate to the bottom bit with the cat in it, but if its not youll need a new manifold gasket too.

cheers, The manifold is different i think but just searched there and a company has it for £60? Just phoned up a garage and they said £230.
I am very confused since both these prices are completly different .... or do garages gerenally charge THAT much more? lol

garages charge fitting aswell, and a bit extra so its about right. If your reasonably good at mechanical jobs id do it yourself. Tells ya how to do it in the max power haynes manual

Hmmm seems silly cheap but i know someone that could fit it. Just a dont like ordering just in case i get the incorrect part lol. So £60ish sounds ok for a cat?

Have a look on www.cituning.ltd.uk they do a four branch manifold for the Phase2 VTR with a Sports Cat in the manifold, there by improving gasflow with the bonus of the 4branch + the sports cat.

Prices are under £300 Im sure. Have a look and see what they offer for your car.

Somepeople will cringg with the mention of Cituning but Ive used them on a number of times and they have been fine as where the items supplied by them :y:
