right i decided to take my pipercross air filter of today and put the standard one back on and the car feels much better without it smoother through the rev range and i seem to be able to go quicker in each gear.

my point is induction kits are ment to make the car breath better making it go a bit quicker. it just seems to be the other way round with my car any reason for this?

its probablies because its an open filter and was intaking hot air, there only good for noise a standard one will always be better than a open induction imo, enclosed kits you will se a better response and performance not much but with other mods its great, hows about buying a green panel filter for the standard airbox :y:

nice one mate thorght it might be the hot air do u know where the best place would be to get a green panel filter and what should i get one of them and not another make.

exactly what pred just said, because its an open air filter, it will be sucking in hot air and through this you will loose performance!

with your standard box, you get an enclosed filter with a good cold air feed!

all the open air filters are for is noise!

Green Panel Filters are about £35 and they just replace your existing filter inside the standard airbox mate! their a good choice of filter imo

EDIT just read your post above, they sell panel filters in that shape too mate, here.....

definately worth buying mate tbh if i was going to do things again id just buy a panel filter, a lot of people say theres not much difference in an enclosed and a standard airbox with a green panel filter

I have had my open air filter on today, whilst I was cleaning my standard air box and filter and feck me did my car feel sluggish. The noise it was giving off when I planted my foot sounded absalutely awful mixed with my exhaust system.

I can't wait to have my standard air box and filter back on :D

which open filter did you have? the PiperX open filter sounds gorgeous imo, shame it doesn't do as much for the performance!

I do quite like the sound of those green filters on saxo's, providing they have no exhaust as then they sound a bit poop
