Well, as above! As some may know, ive taken the gearbox out of my car, taken it to a garage that reconditioned the gearbox. The problem at first i was told was the planet gear (never heard of it myself). The car was making a kind of clicking sound as i slowed down through the gears etc. So i got the gearbox back after they told me it needed completely reconditioning. And my problem is, its making the same noise still!!! As if they havent done anything to it. Basically my question is, what shall i do!? I sure as hell am not going to take the gearbox out myself again. Ring them up and tell them they have to do it for me?? Or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Dave

Take it back, you have paid for a problem to be fixed and they aint done it! At the end of the day you have paid them to do FA if the noise is still there.

tell them to fix the problem straight up or else you will report them to trading standards and see if you can take them through the small claims court if it comes to that.

Just for the fact that you havesent it to them to be done and its still happening.. the quicker you get bck to them the better. basically dont cut your nose off to spite your face mate but youdo need to make it clear to them that it is their responsibility now and that they have to sort it.

As above. Assuming you did say to them 'My gearbox is making a clinking noise and i need it fixed' then legally you are in the right. However if you just said to them 'I need my gearbox reconditioned', making the assumption that this will fix the problem then the garage has done thier job.

Did you have anybody with you? becuase it normally comes down to what you can prove you told them as opposed to what you say you told them.

i doubt they will take the box out of your car for free

have you replaced the release bearing and clutch

Yeah, i replaced them the other day while the box was at the garage. Nobody was with me no, but in answer to the question about why it went it, it originally went in to fix the planet gear. They then rang me and said there were more problems, so did i want it repaired, or it would be better to recondition. So they did.
