how much should it cost to get a new head gasket fitted and skimmed?

a few pretty pennies mate................. £400 at a guess
as above 350-400, you get what you pay for so if you get it done real cheap expect it to go wrong and if it doesnt go wrong you saved some hard earnt cash

ive been given a quote on £300 from my usual person i use. guessing that is pretty good then

i would have said 300 aswell. places can charge a fortune. i paid around 250 i think cash on the side. then theres a skim so about 40 pound for that

depends who your usual person is?
when you have a new head gasket, i'd go somewhere well known and reliable, if you go somewhere cheap and it they do a shit job, then your dishing out another £300-£400 to have it sorted again!

gasket kit 30quid, skim, 30quid, day or two of your own work- 0quid-- job done, priceless

silly question, but do i need a head gasket set or just a head gasket??? ive only just recently put a new manifold gasket on the car

the set consists of the pre tensioners also, so i'd reccomend it..
although buying seperite, could save you some money ;)

buying seperate costs a lot more.
really you could get away with gasket, bolts and belt.
