yeah, btw, its a bearing not a washer. easy to swop the part. taking teh box on adn off is the longest part of the job.

you shouldnt even need to completely remove the box. just pull it away from the block enough to move the clutch arm and slide the bearing off the shaft.

by thrust washer do you mean the ''thrust washer'' on the crank in the engine to set the endfloat?

smearsvtr

yeah but he noise dispears after bit

most probably be the clutch release bearing (i think thats what williams was thinking it was), not seen a problem with the thrust washers on the TU but the release bearing is a pain in the arse and even genuine pug/cit one dont last that long.
if your changing the clutch stay away from techniclutch and Helix, ive used both in many different cars and had nothing but trouble from both, the standard Valeo or LUK are the best unless your running boost

wicked m8 cheers for advice and i really like your ax a few of ma m8s have had probs wit bearings 2. that would make clutch feel bit heavy would it

tweeqd
9th May 2007, 22:05
yes they sqeak cos the bearing is running dry, this in turn would make the clutch heavy as it wont be spinning with the engine as it should.
box out job is pritty easy, i can have in and out in about an hour and half but ive done a few lol
if you know your way around tools then it will only take a few hours
