No need for a remap??!

youd need stand alone management

just looks like bits and pieces of different cars thats been chucked together lol. but its not as simple as bolting it on as he says it is. theres all the fuel management to sort out aswell. either 5th injector mf2 & sigcon or as soulless says standalone with larger injectors

need to tap the oil feeds in (them plastic piples in the pic wont last 2 secs, and make the turbo downpipe, then u need to lower your compression with forgies or double headgasket (forged pistons are roughly £450), then u got to fit an extra injector with an mf2 (£200) and sigcon (£250) or standalone (£mega bucks) , also need to fit a dumpvalve to stop it stalling the turbo and also make some intercooler pipes up. after that ideally u need it mapped on a rolling road to get the mf2 set up properly if not it wont last 2 secs. also from what i can see in the pic the turbo will be sat at an angle which is not good for the bearings. another thing to think about is that u will need better brakes, clutch ... etc to take the extra power so ur not looking at a cheap conversion

And with a turbo, be prepared for a drop in reliability.

If you get a turbo unfortunatly you need the help of pro's with the right tools!

IE about 5 grand!

And with a turbo, be prepared for a drop in reliability.

not at all, ive done 8k in mine and only blown 2 clutches, apart from them its as reliable as a normal car.

that kit looks horid, the angle of the bottom of the manifold for a start will kill the turbo in about 10secs, stay well away

and how is he quoting those figues. with no mapping or ecu upgrades is a joke

I reckon the best thing you can do if your keen on the idea is to contact companies like carworx, jam-sport, cituning and GMC and say you have seen the items listed ask them to have a look and see what they feel can be saved from it and what is missing to install the kit to your car.

They may all say dont bother and try and sell you one of their own kits but at least your know.

I dont think its just a case of garage/tuner fitment only as some very good turbo'd Saxo's in the past have been home made kits, but unless your very good with the spanners it will probally be best to companies who have done turbo/supercharged conversions anumber of times.

After all what you got to lose from a couple of phone calls :y: go on you know you want to find out more lol

yes, but 8k and two clutches is unreliable.

i think all tweeqd is trying to say that it wasnt the engine that wasnt reliable it was just that the clutches couldnt handle the power. a turbo saxo that is well looked after eg time to warm up and cool down will not be any more unreliable than a standard one

most turbos saxos that i know of, have no problem with realiability.
its just that some parts are not up to handling the power, ie clutches and drive shafts.
as long as you use good quality parts and look after the engine, it should be no different to running a scooby or evo lol

I would stay well clear of a turbo kit like that, it will cost you way more for other parts, then you could of had a half decent kit for a bit more.

you need a few quid saved up for a decent turbo setup ;) best places are dp-engineering and carworx for turbo conversions :)
