you will get less mph not more with a shorter gearbox, but a vts box will be shorter. 1.1, xsi, rallyes.
I want more accell and less MPH.

What about the 1.4 westy and furio boxes?

Whats an S1?
Also whats the 1.1 reving at when its doing 70mph? And what would be the limit of that box for RPM / Torque?

same strength as any other MA box. just because its off a 1.1 doesnt mean its weaker.
KK n1.
I think im gonna try and source a 1.1 box on ebay when i get the new clutch fitted.
Anyone with a 1.1 what does the engine rev @ when its at 70mph?

I know that 60mph with a VTS box on VTR engine does about 3050 rpm
Will the 1.1 box be too short for the vtr? what top end is it? Whats the difference? anybody know?

vts box over 1.1
same strength as any other MA box. just because its off a 1.1 doesnt mean its weaker.
yes it does, the diff is smaller on the 1.1 box and so cant handle as much power.
the 1.1 box also isnt using the sports cluster so will have more noticable drop off between gears, a rumour that needs ending imo is that a 1.1 box is a good box. the only 1.1 final drives that were really good are so rare its unbeliveable.
1.3s1 rallye
1.4xsi
1.6rallye
1.6xsi
vts/gti
theres a list of boxes if you want a better box.

S1 rallye box if you can get hold of one mate!
or the s2.
or a xsi box.
They are the 3 id go for :)
Ive got a 1.1 box on my furio and it made jack shit difference.

1.4xsi before the s2. imo a 1.4 xsi final drive is proably the most recommeneded if you still do milage, my track car i toyed with it, but think the s1 rallye final drive is better for track use.
1.1 boxes are ghey
Hey man... Just wanted to say thanks for all the advice you gave me with the gearbox. I've gone and got an S1 box in the end. Cheers.

1.1 box in vtr rocks acceleration far better top end pretty shitty tops out not much more than 110, had mine in two years stil as good as the day it went in vtr one lasted a month!thats just my opinion its been all good for me, got the limiter raised to 6800 to and the car seems much better as it has more of a top end now too!
