Hi

I'm currently rebuilding a VTS engine for stage rallying and i have the bottom end apart checking everything over.

Does anyone know of any good companies that could mic up the crank and check the rods for me, there is only so much you can do in the garage!!

Also has anyone else encountered a fair bit of wear on cam ladders and where the cams sit in the head, got a few nasty grooves and the engine has only done 58k!

Any tips on rebuilding and weak points would be great.

Thanks

As far as the bottom end goes they are bomb proof. Were tested to rev upto 15k apparently by citroen without too many probs.. :)

Someone else will be able to help you further soon i expect.

I've seen plenty of engines lying all over the track so whilst its on the bench I would rather replace parts now than take it out again later with a big hole in!

I thought the engine had a slight knock so stripped it down as a precaution.

If anyone has any tips on good engine builders that know a thing or two about these engines that would be great. I live in Norfolk.

If you can afford it get forged pistons & rods, will defo b bullet proof then then. I have just rebuilt my engine with forged rods n pistons, just doing abit of re-wiring & she will b back on the road!!:P
