Right, i'm looking to buy a green forced induction kit.

Its the first mod to my car to be done, but i want to know if its the best kit to buy for my VTR.

I am looking for gain in performance if possible with a nice sounding induction sound, which is just as important.

But whilst in this thread i suppose i should ask which bhp my engine actually is, date of reg is 28/01/2000 and its silver/grey top. Cat is under the car but i am sure the ECU is 3 plugs, is their a guaranteed way to tell which it is?

Need to make sure i get the correct induction kit you see!!!!

your car sounds to me as if its a 98bhp one in fact im pretty sure it is :)

best induction kits are

green forced (i have one)
bmc
and the raceland + green filter from kam racing

basically the same as a green but half the price (was going to say calories there :p )

its up to you only difference on the kam racing one is the funnel is grey and has vts written on it ans also the silicone pipe is yellow or black the green one has blue silicone

you mean 'enclosed' ;) got this on my Furio, love it, for the saxo has to be Green Cotton Enclosed or BMC. Green Cotton FTW!

3 plug looks like so....

on your air box is it a big round one? I had a pipercross carbon filter but it came damaged, i sent it back, but when fitted i had the breather from the rocker cover connected to it but i still had anothe pipe from i think it was the throttle body, do i just leave this disconnected as it went to my standard airbox before, looks like it just went in a loop :P

all i did on mine was cut the pipe a bit down its length on the rocker bit and connect the breather from there to the induction funnel, i used a plumbing fixture whih i tapped into the breather pipe on rocker and jubilee clipped it into place :y:

sounds confusing lol thought all silver top where 98BHP lol but with the single plug sounds like its 90BHP, and CAT under car is 90BHP too. So sounds like 90 mate

i will get a few pictures tomorrow, cat is under car, 1 plug ecu, round shape air box, 1 lambda sensor that i know of, i beat most saxo's that i have come against that are standard lol

definately is a 90bhp model mate, its probablies the rocker that has either been replaced or sprayed

tbh i'd stick with the 90bhp version mate, less hassle when it comes to modding!

I had a silver top 90bhp VTR,

Mine was a late T reg.

how many times do i have to repeat that silvertops are BOTH 90 bhp and 98bhp!!!!!!!!! And its been to a number of folk in this thread.

Blacktop vtr: 90bhp
Silvertop vtr, single plug ecu, cat under car: 90bhp
Silvertop vtr, 3 plug ecu, cat in manifold: 98bhp.

Rant not directed at thread poster.
