hiya im looking to get something else done to my car
would really like to get cams but i cant afford all of this.
just wondering really what kind of gains i would expect from
port and polished head,
racing pistons
and how much do these cost?

will these need to be then remapped in?

thank you very much. :afro: :y:

Hmm. You dont need to change the pistons unless you run throttle bodies or want an engine thats revs quickly. High Comps for example are about 450 quid.

Porting is expensives about 350 quid plus and sees minimal gains unless used with....... you guessed it, throttle bodies.

Best bang for you buck is cams and remap with breather modifications tbh.

No;
the stuff you meantioned is for big power engines really,
your not going to see power gains from high comp pistons on a standard engine.

Best bet is to get breather mods done.

Then choose cams. 708s BP285s or PT51s.

Change headgasket, water pump, crank pulley, cambelt, alternator belt, cam seals and MAYBE cam followers.

Save for the remap and seeing as you changed all the above, then you not be scared to rev the shite out of it and it will be as strong as ever.

Look into a lightened and balanced flywheels and higher clamping force clutch. These will help your engine rev more quickly and sharply. Actually, you may benifit from head porting and polishing with cams!
