hi ppl i got a 1.1 saxo desire mk2 which has done 142000 lookin to put a new engine in just wonderin which engines would fit and wat running gear i would need and would i need to get a mechanics report too.

Just about any post 92 Saxo, AX or 106 engine and gearbox will fit with some wiring. But to make it easy just get another of the same model 1.1 TU engine.

Or, failing that, just buy another 1.1 Engine from the same age car, should go straight in without any wiring mods, and wouldn't cost much more than £100 for everything you need, and you could keep your own ecu and wiring if its the same!

I have a spare 1.4 engine of course though! lol needs a headgasket though, and a good clean up, been sat about for a while!
Got a spare gearbox and new clutch too... don't have the ECU though, and half the sensors are gone, scattered all over the place, probably not much help to you thinking about it...
