no mods to head on early head, late head should do! will need mods to the inlet though for map sensor etc..

its not just bolt on mate

Do you get more power with this?

Ryan
27th May 2007, 22:16
not huge power increase..

all the info on it is on www.106rallye.co.uk

Wont fit 98bhp as port spacing is different (Or will need major modification). And to get them running well will be a pain in the ass or a lot of cash.

okies so....want to buy this inlet off shadow_fury on here he says this aint the inlet but it's exactly the same as this

silver rockers can be both engines.

look at where the oil dip stick goes into the bottom end? if it comes out between the exhaust ports its the 98bhp head.

as i said s1 inlets are not a piece of piss to set up

SunderZ
27th May 2007, 22:29
yeah it's off an S1 rallye by the looks on rallye register

http://www.rallyeregister.co.uk/images/specs/s1engine.jpg

... can some one claryfy it will fit etc and what work is needed so i now weather to buy or not...

thanks for all the help guys :y:

it is to the right of the zaust ports... what does the roller rockers etc have to do with it as on the piper site they say the roller rocker is the 98bhp modle thats all that is confusing me.

Ryan
27th May 2007, 22:32
as i said check where the oil dipstick is!!!!!!!!

if it has the dipstick between the ports it wont fit as is the late head and diff port spacing.

Ryan
27th May 2007, 22:32
and the work needed is wiring so depends how good you are at wiring

Ryan
27th May 2007, 22:58
that pic looks like the spec 2 head as i call it. early silvertop, so should fit.

it doesnt look like the 98bhp late spec head

Jay_VTR

tweeqd
27th May 2007, 23:09
yes the actual fitting will go straight on but most tend to need a remap or fucking about with the sensors to get it to work, im running fully standalone management so im not botherd but i know a few on the rallyreg have had issues

Ryan
27th May 2007, 23:11
i think most on rallye reg have had issues lol!!!

Jay_VTR
27th May 2007, 23:12

SunderZ
27th May 2007, 23:13

should be ideal for charging, thats why im using one to act as a plenom for the boost

SunderZ
27th May 2007, 23:15
great minds think alike ey :p

SunderZ
27th May 2007, 23:16
just athought...what about a gasket for it??

tweeqd
27th May 2007, 23:18
pug do a paper one for it, the white bit on the pic above is a PTFE one to stop heat transfere from the head to the manifold, keeps the inlet charge cooler ;)

tweeqd
27th May 2007, 23:24

Ryan
27th May 2007, 23:26
1.1 box. dont get me started

SunderZ
27th May 2007, 23:27
yeah got a ported and pollished head to go on too forgot about that haha..but yeah i can get all head work done pretty easily...might get one made up then all these little things will all help in some way or the other :)

hahaha only a 1.1 as it's the only one i got off my 1.1 engine that is comeing out i do have a vtr to get reconditioned wich i might put in i will see :)

tweeqd
27th May 2007, 23:34
thats for a complete new thread lol but save the vtr box untill you boost, its too tall for N/A but all the others are too short for boost, the vtr was great in mine but wont last with the power so ive gone for BE ;)

Ryan
