Hi all just deciding on which car to go for next which would be faster a 106 gti or the sax vts ????

Both about the same speed mate, only performance difference is slightly different mapping which gives the GTi a bit more power apparently, but the VTS is lighter so theyre pretty much the same. Its more about the driver ;)

i personally think that the gti looks better as much as i hate to admit it, i was hoping to do the track days when i move up from the 1.1

id say get a gti as i think they feel a more "solid" car as i have owned both the gti gets my vote but despite what anyone says they are more or less identical in speed term when standard of course

Love 106 GTi :) not sure on speed tho. Also like VTS :)

i thought the gti had exactly the same engine / management as the S

Correct me if im wrong but they both got the same engine.......and top speed roughly but the VTS 0-60 is 7.6 sec and the GTi is 8.4 (not much quicker then a VTR)

Though the GTi has a better interior seats.....but i hate the dashboard too old and dated i reckon......but i prefer the looks of a VTS to be honest it got more of a shape to it if you no what i mean

will feel more "solid" cuz it has thinker arb's. you could stick them round track after track but my not find any difference. down to what you prefer. personly i would hav a vts any day over a gti but its down to you

But about the same i'd prob have the 106 personally. it's a group lower on insurance and looks a bit better.

i dont like the interior on them tho

thats because pug tested it to 60 with more fuel than the vts had and a passenger apparently

i dont mean in suspension terms i mean in general like build quality, steering feel, and interia

there are so many little "niggles" that people point out with each car for example "the vts is lighter", "the gti has smaller wheels so better acceleration" im my opinion any of these advantages could be threw out the window just by getting on the throttle a split second faster,so its all pub talk really, they are just the same speed wise.
