Anyone ever heard of switching the inlet and exhaust manifolds arround?

What I'm on about is having the inlet at the front and exhaust at the back.

Any thaughts on the matter cahps?

and do all the water and oil ways line up?

U can turn it about as the cam pulleys would be on the other side and u wont beable to link them up

also why would u bother doing it

not physically turn it arround, I had in mind to have a cam made that was 180 degrees out of phase. then manufacure new manifolds.

then tilt the engine back 10-20 degrees giving tones of rome at the front for an eaton supercharger?

besides, if you think about it, as it is the heat from the rad and exhaust combine and get pushed to the rear of the bay, heating the inlet side of the head by radiant heat, and if the inlet was at the front it would be easyer to controll the inlet temp, would it not?

agreed it would be easier to control the heat but it would be a mutherfucker of a job.

Why the eaton supercharger? cheapness?

I'd like to use the eaton simply because I happen to have one that has only covered 500 miles, and to fit it would mean some serious thaught on use of given space as it's physical size is about the same as a head.

another option would be to do a swap for somthing smaller, but to be honest, I doubt that'll happen.

As I'm sure you've guessed, when it comes to modding, I like to try and push the boundrys of what is concidered to be acceptable and firmly beleive that if we throw enough mad ideas into the pot someone will have a lightbulb moment and a briliant new mod will be born?

could you not mount the charger at the other side of the bay and use a "pole" (for want of a better more tech wordsmileys/smiley17.gif) to reach the other side of the engine where you can attach the pulley

No mate, I looked at that, but there's still not enough room.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.

nice try lads, but that's not an eaton e45, it's similar, but it's smaller.

The eaton is bigger and won't fit, comes close, but won't go.

Fuck it, think I'll just go down the turbo route, after all, it's cheaper, easyer, plus with the ecu I'm using I've got the capacity to run dual waste gate maps plus in-car adjustability.

thanks for the thaughts.
