i have an ashley backbox which i bought a good year ago which has just sat in my room doing nothing. My centre section is now blowing at the silencer so i need a new centre section. now i've had a look around for an ashley centre section as it makes sense to now have my backbox fitted and can only seem to get it direct from ashley (which used POTN :n:) for 104 quid as my car is the mk2 vtr so i need it from manifold back. My question is do ya think it is worth it or should i just forget about it an buy another standard centre section.

cheers

why dont you just get a different centre section...like another performance make and bank that back box onto it....most exhausts for togethor dude...cant make any old combination

like mine is powerflow with a raceland manifold

i was kinda hoping to keep the centre silencer to make motorway journeys easier on the ears
an i heard that its difficult to fit ashley backbox's to other centre sections???

If the ashley exhaust is a direct replacement for a VTR/VTS backbox, which I think they are, it will fit a supersprint centre section no problems.

The supersprint manifold-->Backbox pipe will be exactly the same as your current pipe but the bore will be 2" down the pipe (but not the connections).

The question about how loud depends on what is loud to you. I have heard ashley backboxs are very loud and thats with a standard centre section.

Id say fit the back box yourself to the blowing centre section. Its not a hard job at all to fit a backbox if its a direct replacement. Get an idea of how loud it is with the back box and then if you think you want it louder buy a supersprint centre section. If its loud enough just buy a standard citroen centre section with the silencer.
