If your car is a silver top you have to use a 285R not 285. For this cam to work properly you have to remap and use harder valve springs. Its not recommended to fit to a standard engine. If your car is a black top you can get a 285 cam kit. It will work with out a remap but really you should get one as it works a lot better. However on both the injectors them self will be ok. If you are going to get it mapped its worth getting every other part you are planning on getting before hand. I would recommend a good ported head from some one such as GMC or Longman.

yes i have the silvertop and will be getting a ported head along with a cam change , oviously these 2 things will be done at the same time. from gmc he offers stronger springs for an extra 42 quid which i'll probaly go for. there isany other cam which would work just aswell if not better than a 285R

if i manage to get both these things done should i keep them aside till i can afford for the better management or COULD i run them unmapped for a month at the longest

cheers for the replys as well guys. :)

That head will not fit your car. It will only fit the old carb or SPI TU 8V engines. It will not even fit a 106 XSI. Guess thats really why hes selling. Wrong on the inlet side.
