It all started thursday evening, when i noticed one on my wheel nuts was loose, upon trying to torque it back up i noticed the thread was knackered! Great!!! :err:

So off to see a family friend, who kindly re-tapped the thread for me and made me a replacement bolt! happy days i'm thinking :A:

then we notice that there are not 1 but 2 massive cracks along the alloy where the bolts locate, these cracks ran the full length of the hole and went all the way through

after putting the spare wheel on, I booked it into the top alloy welding place in Derby. Went to collect today, and they cannot repair it, something to do with the fact there is too much magnesium in the alloy!

so i'll be rolling into FCS tomoz on a set of half decent S wheels, proper gutted tbh! bloody thing!

oh and while im here, does anyone know if i can use my alloy wheel nuts to hold my VTS wheels on?? rep for any helpful advice given!

cheers

Oli :y:

can't believe i just wrote all that ^^^^^^^^^ :p

basically what i wanted to know was, would it be ok for me to use my alloy wheel nuts (which came with my wolfrace alloys) to fix my VTS alloys in place!?

but i've just spoke to a mate who confirmed that it will be ok! lol

as long as it bites in to the hub far enough its fine, however, if they are too long they will catch on the break components. lol, that probably doesnt help too much.

they bite about 13mm ish onto the hub, so should be ok!
