My car overheated and theres water in the oil. is it just a new head gasket i need? ive heard the mk1 vts gaskets are very thin but im going to order one from the mk2 from eurocarparts, im also ordering a new cam belt. is there anything else i need bar oil, filter and new anti freeze?
Cheers,
Phil

yep get new head bolts as well probably no more than a few quid. Also budget for the head needing skimming just incase it has warped slightly.
Make sure you get the multi layered steel gasket (which should be the mk2 one your getting)

it might not be thicker you can get different sizes which you would use when getting the head skimmed and depending on how much you get off it then the different thickness would be used to try and keep compression the same
