maybe its the bonnet prop stick (cant remember proper name lol) ive heard of some people having to remove that when fitting a strut brace

possible obstructions are the 'bonnet prop stick' as Danny calls it LOL and the fuel cut off switch (or 'big red button thingy' as Danny would probably call it :p). Remove the bonnet prop and keep it in your boot, and just unbolt the cut-off switch and cable tie it out of the way.

Hopefully its the cut off switch as id rather keep the prob...
also is there a right and wrong way for the brace to go...
I t has an adjustable thing which im guessing goes on the left?

when you offer it up to the car it will probably only fit one way, and it's probably more likely to be the bonnet stay that's in the way to be honest.

I have a similar one on my vtr, if you unbolt the fuel cut off switch there is a bracket right next to it you can re bolt it to so its out of the way :) If it is that anyway!

would the bonnet prop be in the way for an e-tech strut brace?

I think I know which way, and the bonnet stays up both way's
oh the hassle. and I got a free carbon cover for my battery which doesnt fit all to good either :(

E-Tech ones dont need anything moving others usually the fuel cut off switch
just use the nuts that are already on and tighten them up to 20nm

think ive just bought the same one as u for my 106 gti, all u do is remove the fuel cut off switch and tie it up elsewhere and i also had to extend the hole for the screws so mines would go on properly but now its on and can feel the difference :)

you can just move the fuel cut off switch along one bolt towards the front of the car and angle it so the brace fits. thats what ive done with mine when i fitted my sparco one
